Ambassador: Jennifer Heil

One of Canada's premier athletes, Jennifer has been a dominant force in the world of freestyle mogul skiing. A four-time World Cup Champion who took home gold at the 2006 winter Olympics in Turin, Jenn was the first Canadian to medal at this year’s Winter Olympics in Vancouver, taking home the silver!. Jennifer is also a champion for girls rights as a proud ambassador of Because I am a Girl.

In 2007, Jennifer had an opportunity to see first hand the work of Plan Canada. She visited the West African country of Burkina Faso and was moved by the experience. "While I was in Burkina Faso I saw firsthand how difficult life is for girls there. But, I was inspired by their hope, pride and dignity, and by their determination to build a better future for themselves."

Jennifer shares her call to action. "As an ambassador of the Because I am a Girl campaign, I have made a commitment to help Plan support the rights and development of millions of girls around the world. I hope you'll join me."
