Because I am a Girl Report

The Because I am a Girl reports examines the state of the world's girls. The report, produced annually until 2015, follows the lives of specific girls around the world through a cohort study.

The “Real choices, Real lives” cohort study was set up to follow 140 girls from birth until their ninth birthday, in 2015.

Every year researchers will visit the girls and their families to learn about their health, their education, and their daily experiences, and over time will build a picture of how their gender affects their lives.

Findings from the study will be published in Plan's yearly Because I am a Girl reports. This compelling research is used to advocate for changes to government policies to benefit girls worldwide.
