The Movement just wrapped up a cool concert tour at schools across Ontario: 411 TV: Because I Am A Girl.
This mock live-to-air TV Talk Show featured:
Hip-hop artists Eternia and Masia One, who use their music and experiences to generate discussion about girls’ issues
Guest interviews, live performances and satellite interviews from around the world
The concert tour has reached over 25,000 girls in Ontario. Cities included Brampton, Beamsville, Brechin, Bowmanville, Dryden, Hamilton, Mississauga, Oshawa, Richmond Hill, Sarnia, Sault St. Marie, Sioux Lookout, St. Catharines, St. Thomas, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Toronto, Waterdown, and Windsor.

The show is hosted by journalist Nana Aba Duncan. MTV Canada hosts Nicole Holness and Aliya-Jasmine Sovani, along with Diane Salema join the conversation through pre-taped segments to discuss their trips to visit girls in Haiti, Colombia and Sudan.

Nana Aba Duncan, Program Host
Nana is an on-air host and writer, and currently hosts the contest segment on GO! every Saturday on CBC Radio One. Nana Aba was also a radio reporter in Ghana.
Masia One, Interview and Live Performance Guest
Masia One, artist extraordinaire released her debut album ‘Mississauga’ in 2003, and three music videos including ‘Split Second Time’ which was nominated for a Much Music Video Award. She followed this up with her sophomore album Pulau inspired by her travels around the world and will be releasing her new album with label Kops & Robbers Spring 2010. www.masiaone.com
Eternia, Interview and Live Performance Guest
Eternia is a Juno Award nominated Canadian carving out a space for woman in the hip-hop industry. Eternia has toured across Canada and the US and across Australia and Europe.
